We Haven't Located Us Yet

If I had to describe this movie it would be “Anti-cats, no eyebrows. Dirty bath water. Ugh.” I think that was a haiku.

This is a movie that makes me hate that this is a free country where anyone can just make a movie.
I’m not entirely convinced that they didn’t actually kill some cats, either.

I don’t know what the most offensive thing about Harmony Korine is. Is it his unrelentingly voyeuristic obsession with underage sex? One that is so unabashedly exploitative that it doesn’t make the audience feel uncomfortable with themselves (the way say David Lynch would) but rather just very, very sorry for him. Or is it his utterly nihilistic approach to filmmaking, one that eschews any kind of respect for the craft and comes across as a troubled young man masturbating via his video camera. Or maybe it’s the complete lack of talent? As he is a man that has luckily stumbled across a niche where he can peddle his crap to young-adults who want to feel unique and avant-garde or to out-of-touch adults who are so desperate to latch onto the next wave of hip filmmaking that they lack the discretion to see through such an obvious gimmick.
